About Robot Route

Robot Route is a programming puzzle about planning a complete journey before it happens. Build a queue of Forward, Turn Left, Turn Right and Activate commands, then send your robot through a factory floor. Twelve handcrafted levels introduce energy pickups, hazardous tiles, gate circuits and conveyor chains, with optional targets for efficient programs.

How to play

Queue commands using the four buttons. Forward moves one tile in the direction the robot faces; turns change its facing without changing its position.
Collect every yellow energy cell, then reach the green exit. Collection happens automatically when the robot arrives on a cell.
Stand on switch A or B and execute Activate to toggle the matching circuit. A controls A gates; B controls B gates. All circuits begin closed.
Conveyors automatically carry the robot along their arrows until it reaches ordinary floor. They do not change its facing or consume extra commands.
Run plays the program from the start. Step executes one command; Pause and Resume let you inspect a run. Editing the queue resets the robot and circuits.
Walls, closed gates and hazards stop the run. Revise your program and try again; there is no penalty for experiments.
Finish for one star, use no more than three commands above the target for two, or meet the target for three. Your best executed command count is saved per level.

Strategy & practical tips

Track the robot's facing after every turn. Left and Right rotate it in place, so a northbound path may need a turn before the next Forward.
Break a route into checkpoints: energy cell, switch, gate, exit. Use Step to check each checkpoint before running the whole program.
Trace a conveyor chain to its final landing tile. The robot keeps its original facing even when the belt turns a corner.
Activate only while standing on a switch. Repeating Activate toggles the circuit closed again, so check the gate state before passing through.
A successful route earns a star at any length within the queue limit. Once it works, remove unnecessary turns or use a conveyor to reach the efficiency target.

A common mistake

Assuming the robot turns to face the direction of a conveyor. A belt can move it north while it is still facing east, so the next Forward may go sideways from the landing tile.

Robot Route is free to play in any modern web browser on desktop, tablet and phone — no download, no account and no install. In games that track personal bests, records are saved in this browser and are removed if you clear site data.
