About Minesweeper

Minesweeper is the classic logic puzzle: reveal every safe square without hitting a mine, using the numbers as clues. This version has a guaranteed safe first click, chording, and touch-friendly flagging.

How to play

  1. Click a square to reveal it; your first click is always safe.
  2. A number shows how many mines touch that square, including diagonals.
  3. Flag the squares you think hide mines.
  4. Click a number whose mines are all flagged to open its other neighbours (chording).

Controls

  • Click to reveal, right-click to flag
  • Long-press or switch to Flag mode on touch screens

Features

  • Easy, Medium and Expert boards
  • Safe first click
  • Chording
  • Best time per difficulty

Strategy & practical tips

  1. Count all eight neighbouring squares, including diagonals. Compare a number's remaining mine count with its unrevealed neighbours.
  2. Use flags for deductions you trust. Chording checks the number of adjacent flags, so an incorrect flag can make a chord dangerous.
  3. On touch screens, choose reveal or flag mode deliberately. A long press is also available for flagging.

A common mistake

Treating flags as proof. A number can have the expected count of flags while those flags mark the wrong squares.
